All website hosting accounts are handled using a Control Panel and no matter the brand of the latter, there is always a File Manager tool, which enables you to look at the files you have uploaded in the Internet hosting account and to perform simple operations with them, like moving, copying or deleting. With respect to the specific tool, there can be more complex features also, including management of permissions and archives. Some Control Panels are simpler to use compared with others and so are their File Manager sections. Considering that that is the main tool you will employ to control your files, it is crucial to check in advance what options it provides and if it'll suit your needs, because a hard-to-use File Manager can be a burden and could make managing your online presence more difficult.
File Manager in Cloud Hosting
The File Manager tool, which is part of our in-house made Hepsia Control Panel, will allow you to administer all of the files that you upload to your cloud hosting
account without any difficulty. You can move files and entire folders by dragging-and-dropping them inside the account. You could upload content in the same way - pick a file/folder on your computer system and drag it to your browser in which the File Manager is loaded. By right-clicking a file or a folder inside your account, you may also access context menus with more complex options - you'll be able to create or to unpack an archive, to create a password-protected area, to alter the UNIX permissions through a web interface or to modify the content with a number of editors without ever leaving the Control Panel – an HTML editor, a plain text editor or a code editor. We have also included help articles and video tutorials, that you can access from the File Manager to learn more about its functions.
File Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers
Our File Manager tool will allow you to do pretty much anything you need. It is an element of the Hepsia CP, that comes with all semi-dedicated server
accounts and apart from the normal functions including copying, deleting or renaming files, you shall be able to use right-click menus in order to access more complex ones. With a couple of mouse clicks, you will be able to password-protect any folder in the account, to edit the UNIX permissions in case a script-based application needs it or to change the content of any file using code, plain text and WYSIWYG editors. In addition, you'll no longer require an FTP program to upload new content as you may just drag-and-drop files and whole folders from your laptop or computer directly to the File Manager. The tool shall do the rest, keeping the folder structure of the content which you upload.
